The Bank of Utah is an Ogden based bank with over a billion dollars in assets and 20 branches throughout Utah.
The bank was established in 1952 by Frank M. Browning of Ogden Utah. One of its first presidents was Roy W. Simmons who went on to acquire Zions Bank to create Zions Bancorporation. Here is the bank's acquisition history:
- 1952: BoU was founded with $1 million in assets.
- 1974: BoU acquired Bank of Ben Lomond
- 1978: BoU acquired Bank of Brigham City
- 1978: BoU acquired Bank of Northern Utah
- 1999: BoU acquired First Commerce Bank
