“This is the best site I have found about Ogden. It begins with Fort Buenaventura and Miles Goodyear to the coming of the Mormons and Captain James Brown buying 22 square miles of Weber valley, almost all of which he gave away to the settlers. The renaming of the fort to Brown's Fort and then the growth of Brownsville, which was later renamed Ogden. Captain James Brown was the most generous and influential pioneer in the area until his untimely death September 1863. Great insight and information. Well-organized and easy to use.”
